The Sudanese authorities report that they are investigating an attempt to hack up to 50 government websites.
This follows threats by hacker group Anonymous to target Sudanese government and political party sites.
The group has warned in a video on YouTube that it plans to take action against the Sudanese government, because, it says, the government seeks to limit free speech and access to information.
The Sudanese authorities have blocked a number of websites deemed as anti-government, amid protests in the country.
