Zamtel has launched its 4G mobile communication service in Kitwe, which it says is expected to shape the future of mobile communications in Zambia.
According to the company, the 4G service underpins Zamtel’s vision to constantly innovate and push the technological envelope in the delivery of advanced mobile communication services.
Zamtel Chief Executive Officer Mupanga Mwanakatwe said Zamtel remains steady fast in its commitment to providing cost effective and relevant communications solutions that constantly offer an unrivalled customer experience through the use of cutting- edge, state- of-the-art technology.
“The decision to launch this 4G service provides an added impetus to our vision and quest to make a positive and meaningful impact in the lives of Zambians from all walks of life and in all parts of the nation,” Mwanakatwe said.
He said currently, the LTE network in Zambia was still in its infancy and that the LTE experience will prove the immense benefits of the latest generation mobile communication technology. He said mobile broadband is a game changer that will transform the ICT landscape in Zambia, opening up a host of possibilities in the field of mobile commerce and will shape how education and health services are provided in the future.
And Huawei Technologies, Zamtel’s long-term partner said it was delighted to see the significant development of Zamtel in terms of both technologies and business.
