Vodafone Icons Remix holds final auditions in Accra

Ghana’s capital city, Accra, came to a standstill when the final audition of the Vodafone Icon Remix edition hit town. Thousands of young talented youths within the Greater Accra Region of the country throng to the Plush Labadi Beach Hotel to part take in an event that could change their lives for the better in the field of showbiz.
Speaking to Biztechafrica at the plush Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, the Event and Sponsorship manager at Vodafone Ghana, Ruth Maafo, reiterated Vodafone Ghana’s commitment to empower young people in Ghana to be creative in their quest to become music icons through its Vodafone Icon programme. According to her this year’s edition which happened to be the fourth edition dubbed “Icon Remix” seeks to discover and groom local music talents for international stage in an intense Boot Camp session.
Ms Ruth Maafo noted that this year’s edition will witness Vodafone rewarding all three winners. “Unlike previous editions where only one person gets the ultimate prize, this year’s Icon Remix edition will stand out to be one of an exciting piece because all three finalists will be rewarded accordingly”
The Event and Sponsorship manager at Vodafone Ghana said the judging process will be conducted by renowned Ghanaian artiste Manifest with support from internationally acclaimed Ghanaian producers and songwriters.
Vodafone Ghana now the second leading telecom operator in the country known for its innovation to empower the youth stated that a maximum of two videos could be sent by contestants, adding that one song should be recorded per video.
Last year Ryan emerged the third season winner of the show dubbed the ‘Street Edition’. His ultimate prize package was valued at GHS250, 000. The prize package included a brand new Kia Sportage, Samsung products and a recording contract with one of the world’s biggest record label, Universal Music.
