Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) will next month launch an airtime credit facility product called “TNM Pasavute”.
The company said at a press briefing that this is a new product from Malawi’s premier mobile network that allows customers who have run out of credit to borrow airtime and repay it later.
TNM Chief Commercial Officer Charles Kamoto said ‘Pasavute’ will provide convenience to all TNM customers to get airtime at the time when they most need it.
“We believe in ensuring that our customers are taken care of and that is why we are brought Pasavute to help our customers to access airtime from anywhere and anytime,” he said.
On the name Pasavute, Kamoto said: “There are some people who want to make a call, but their prevailing circumstances at that time do not allow them to recharge their airtime credit. This should not be a problem anymore, hence the name TNM Pasavute!”
Kamoto further said that in the meanwhile this product will be accessible to selected customers under trial from 26th February 2014 until the 15th March 2014, when the product will be rolled out to all the customers on the TNM network.
TNM Pasavute will give customers an opportunity to borrow airtime and repay with a 10% service fee on their next recharge. TNM customers will have an opportunity to borrow based on their usage and recharge history, and this will be determined automatically by an intelligent system.
TNM’s rival, Airtel Malawi, was the first to start the facility in 2013.
