Tigo Ghana rounded its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) this year with a visit to the Child Care Unit of the Ridge Hospital in Accra to clean and fete the children of the unit.
This move, according to the Head of Solutions Category, Abdul Nasser Alidu, was to put smiles on the faces of the children at the unit and also to show appreciation to the management and staff of the hospital especially the Child Care Unit, for their efforts in keeping the unit going.
He said the visit to the unit is one of Tigo Ghana’s Reach for Change initiative, where companies that are embarking on activities aimed at enriching the lives of children are supported.
The exercise saw the management and staff of Togo Ghana cleaning and decorating the unit amidst the singing of Christmas carols, dancing and distribution of Tigo souvenirs and other valuable items to all the kids and parents at the unit. Tigo also set up the famous Christmas tree for the kids.
The Deputy Director of Nursing Service at the Child Care Unit at the Ridge Hospital, Madam Joyce Ofori Akyea, who couldn’t hide her joy and excitement during the visit by Tigo Ghana, noted how her outfit is grateful for the benevolent gesture shown by such a corporate entity and called on other corporate organizations to emulate such a gesture from Tigo Ghana.
Madam Ofori Akyea thanked Tigo Ghana for coming to the aid of the unit and also to share with them the joy that Christmas brings not only with the children but also the nurses on duty.
