Thousands activate Glo numbers

Tens of thousands of people are activating their new numbers, following the switch-on of Glo Ghana.
Glo Ghana, launched at the beginning of this month after lengthy delays, ran a ‘reserve your number” campaign ahead of its launch.
The new telco reports that 1.5 million people booked their numbers in the new Glo number range.
Following the official launch, Glo says thousands of Ghanaians thronged the twenty five Glo World shops in the country to activate their reserved lines, buy new SIM cards and generally make enquiries about Glo Mobile Ghana.
At the Glo World shop located in different parts of the country, enthusiastic subscribers were seen patiently queuing up to be attended to by officials.
Speaking in an interview, a cross section of the subscribers at the Gloworld shop located on Ring Road in Accra, expressed delight about the unique offerings of Glo Mobile, especially the “Good Day Ghana” package which gives subscribers free 20Gp worth of credit everyday for one hundred days. Other benefits of the Good Day Package include Free Calls From Midnight to 5:00am; Bonus on In-coming Calls which subscribers can use to call any network; Up to 100% Bonus on Recharges; and the Sweet Number which enables subscribers to call one special person at 2Gp per minute.
In Greater Accra, the Glo World shops are located at Madina within the Shell Petrol Station; Ring-Road Central, opposite the Emirates Airline town office; Osu Oxford Street in the Mark Cofie Building, Dansoman on the Dansoman High Street, Adabraka on the Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, Abeka-Lapaz in the Meacham House, Spintex Road, Kaneshie, Accra Central, East Legon, Mallam Junction besides the Ecobank and at Tema in the Meridian Hotel area.
In the Ashanti region, the Gloworld shops are located at Asafo, Suame and Adum. In the Western Region the shops are located in Takoradi, Tarkwa and Sekondi, while in the Central Region, the shop is situated at Cape Coast. In the Northern Region, the shop is located in Tamale and in the Brong-Ahafo Region, it is in Techiman. In the Volta Region, the Glo World shops are located in regional capital, Ho and Aflao while in the UpperEast, the shop is based in Bolgatanga and in the Upper West Region , in Wa.
