Telecom Namibia Training Centre has been endorsed by the Namibia Training Authority (NTA), the national body responsible for the registration of vocational training centres and institutes, to deliver a wide range of general IP/IT training programmes, including vendor-specific certified technical training courses.
The certification came after a comprehensive assessment and evaluation of the Centre’s systems as well as the training services and programmes currently offered.
Its mandate is to excel in providing such services and support to both internal and external customers, enabling the Namibia Training Authority to maximise its effectiveness and potential as a regulator and funder of Vocational Education and Training. The document was handed over to Telecom Namibia’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Andrew Kanime, by Ian Gicheru, NTA’s Manager for Quality Assurance, in Windhoek today.
“Receiving the certification from NTA is a great achievement for Telecom Namibia and for all our partners who have contributed to the design, development and implementation of training solutions to meet defined needs in our industry,” Kanime said. “This certification is further testimony of the importance we place on delivering to best practice standards and in delivering defined skill and knowledge level that has been nationally established as required for the ICT sector,” he added.
Gicheru said that the Telecom Namibia Training Center has met all requirements to get full NTA certification.
“The Telecom Namibia Training Centre underwent an intensive and rigorous evaluation. It has passed our test – and it has met the quality assurance requirements. As such, the Centre is certified as a sound, reliable and trustworthy training provider”, he said.
The certificate is valid for the period 24 February 2014 to 23 February 2016.
