Stanbic Bank Botswana (SBB) launched a state of the art, fully equipped Mobile Branch. The new Mobile Branch is the first of its kind in the Botswana market. It comes as part of the Bank’s drive to allow easy accessibility and convenience to banking services, whilst also allowing for greater financial inclusion and customer experience.
The mobile bank is so secure that all the trappings of a conventional bank are found in this new innovation including a CCTV, bullet-proofed windows, panels and body of the 4×2 truck that house the bank, satellite technology that enables the bank to function in the remotest of areas as long as there is satellite connection.
The Mobile Branch can be used as a fully operational branch offering: cash deposits, cash withdrawals, cheque deposit and encashment, account enquiries, account opening, transfers and issuing of cards. It can also be used as a standalone ATM offering cash withdrawals, and Instant Money redemption. The Mobile Branch will provide the Bank with business continuity capability as well as to exhibit the Bank’s products and services at national events such as trade shows and various exhibitions. The Mobile Branch is the realisation of providing customers with better banking anywhere.
“Our intention as the leading Business Bank in Botswana is to better the lives of our customers by taking the Bank to the people. We want to provide our customers with a platform to transact anywhere they choose. The key message here is access and convenience,” said Calistas Chijoro, Head Customer Channels – Personal and Business Banking.
“The Mobile Branch comes as there is a growing need to offer convenient banking service to customers. We want to satisfy that need,” said Chijoro. “At Stanbic Bank, we believe that providing good service is all about being where customers want us, taking the services to the people and interacting with customers to strengthen those relationships. We want to touch the lives of our customers.”
