Savannah Fund ready for East Africa’s start-ups

East African ICT entrepreneurs are invited to seek funding from the recently-launched Savannah Fund.
The fund, with USD10 million in funding available, has been launched to help grow start ups un Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda.
It aims to invest in high-potential ‘pre-revenue’ web and mobile start-ups in the region, with a view to growing an East African Silicon Valley. Successful applicant will benefit from seed funding and mentorship.
The fund was founded by Kenya’s Erik Hersman, Paul Bragiel and Tanzanian Mbwana Alliy, and funded by several limited partners from Kenya and Silicon Valley.
