The Ugandan Communications Commission (UCC) is expected to meet local telcos this month over their failure to meet its quality of service standards.
None of the five telecommunications companies in Uganda met all the Quality of Service standards, according to a report released by the UCC recently. The report cited high numbers of blocked or dropped calls as some of the problems.
Telecoms operators were warned that quality of service would come into consideration in licence renewal applications and the issuing of future concessions.
The UCC meeting with operators, expected this month, will focus on issues such as failures registered in the mobile money service, ambiguous charges and service interruptions.
