New low cost operator set to enter Cameroon

A new mobile operator is set to launch a low-cost service in Cameroon this year.
According to the newspaper La Nouvelle Expression, the new operator, Altylis Seme Telecom, will be launched by businessman Seme Noungon, owner of Seme New Beach Hotel Limbe and the mineral water brand Seme Mineral Water.
Reports from Cameroon indicated that the new operator is backed by 5 billion francs in funding from Afriland First Bank, and is set to launch early this year.
