New Governor for Bank of Ghana

Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, has officially sworn in Dr Henry Kofi Wampah as substantive Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) at Flagstaff House today.
Dr. Wampah until his appointment, acted as governor of the Central Bank after Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur was elevated to become Vice President of Ghana last year.
He holds a Masters Degree and a Ph.D in Economics from McGill University, Montreal Canada was appointed as first deputy governor of the Central Bank of Ghana in April 2009.
Many industry players have hailed his appointment, describing it as a good move.
