Nigeria’s NCC has confiscated telecoms equipment from Ecobank in Benin.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has confiscated telecommunications equipment from the Akpapkava Road branch of Ecobank, and sealed the bank’s communications room.
The seizure comes as part of the agency’s enforcement drive. The bank was allegedly using certain radio frequencies without authorization.
NCC says it is seeking to ‘sanitise’ its communications space.
