Main One Cable company has made major network upgrades to keep up with growing demand.
Main One said it had, in collaboration with its technical partner, Huawei, upgraded from OSN9500 to the newer, more flexible OSN8800 which enables point-to-point 10 Gigabits per second Ethernet connections.
The Chief Technical Officer of Main One Cable, Johnnie Coleman, said the upgrade had become imperative in view of the increasing demand the firm is recording on a daily basis.
“This upgrade will provide to our customers with minimum downtime, increased capacity, better network performance and enhanced network stability. It will also ensure easier upgrades and capacity expansion (scalability) for the future”
These changes are in addition to other recent upgrades in the network to light up more capacity on the submarine cable between Lagos, Accra and Portugal.
