Key Takeaways:
Samsung has already confirmed it is working on the Galaxy Tab S10 series, slated for release later in the year, but no specifics about the device were revealed. However, a new leak sheds some light on what to expect from Samsung’s upcoming flagship tablets.
Galaxy Tab S10+ And S10 Ultra With Galaxy AI To Be Announced In October
Reputed Android leaker Max Jambor took to X today to claim that Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy Tab S10 series in October, alongside a mixed-reality headset.
Samsung and Google have been working together on an Android-based mixed-reality headset to rival the Apple Vision Pro. Over the weekend it was reported that a development kit may be released for the headset in October ahead of a full launch in early 2025.
Rumor has it that Samsung’s mixed reality headset could be unveiled at a Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company is expected to announce another device, which could be the Galaxy S25 series smartphones.
Jambor says the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and S10 Ultra would be announced in October, but launched separately. Previously, it was indicated that the Tab S10 series might be powered by the flagship-tier MediaTek Dimensity 9300 or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 gen 3 chipsets and include a host of Galaxy AI features that we have seen on the S24 series and the newly released Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
Also, given that Samsung’s tablets usually come with S-Pens, the Tab S10 Plus, and S10 Ultra might include a Drawing Assistant feature found on the Z Fold 6 that allows users to doodle or scribble on the screen and have Galaxy AI turn it into an artwork.
Samsung Takes Out Standard Model From Galaxy Tab S10 Lineup
There are also rumors that Samsung may pull out the standard base model, offering just the Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra. In the recent past, the company has been offering three variants of the Galaxy Tab, which includes a standard and bigger size base model and the top-tier “Ultra”.
Last month, a batch of renders surfaced showing a device virtually identical to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Those were said to be pictures of the upcoming S10 series of tablets.
Both the 12.4-inch S10+ and 14.9-inch S10 Ultra are expected to bring Samsung’s excellent Super AMOLED display to the table. However, the tablets could be powered by different SoCs, with Samsung going for the MediaTek chipset on the S10+ and Qualcomm on the S10 Ultra.
The S10+ and S10 Ultra will be paired with 12GB of RAM, with the top-tier Ultra variant offering up to 2TB of internal storage. These details can only be taken with a pinch of salt as they are still speculations.
Reports suggest that Samsung will release the Galaxy Tab S10+ first in October, with the S10 Ultra coming out along with the Android XR headset in the first half of 2025. The company could officially announce the devices at the upcoming Samsung Developers Conference, to be held on October 3rd.
The S10+ and S10 Ultra aren’t the only devices coming from Samsung this year. There is likely to be a “Fan Edition” of the Galaxy Tab S9 alongside an “Ultra” or “Slim” variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
