Konza EOI deadline extended

Kenya’s Information and Communication Ministry has extended the deadline for bids to be the Master Delivery Partner 2 of Konza City.
Konza City, 70km south-east of Nairobi, is envisaged as a high-tech city and ICT development hub. The official ground breaking ceremony is expected to take place at the end of this month.The city will be connected to a rail network, to be built at a cost of around USD330 million and completed by 2017.
The Ministry of Information and Communication has given two more weeks for companies to bid for the MDP2 contract, with the deadline for Expressions of Interest now 25 January.
The Master Delivery Partner 2 (MDP2) will support the development plans of the Government of Kenya and the Konza Technology Development Authority (KOTDA) through the implementation of Phase 1 of Konza Techno City. The role of MDP2 will be to create a branding and marketing campaign, develop building parcel guidelines, negotiate land leases, conduct a project financial analysis and summary, and manage design and construction for public infrastructure.
