The government of Kenya has issued an invitation for expressions of interest from companies to develop the envisaged Konza City digital city.
Knoza, a 5 000 acre site 60km south of Nairobi, is part of Kenya’
s vision 2030. It is envisaged as a hub for ICT enterprises, where it is hoped that ICT innovation and a business process outsourcing sector will thrive.
The Kenyan Government has called for expressions of interest from a master developer to work in partnership with the government to develop what will become some of the most valuable and sought after real estate in the country, served by excellent communications and the best ICT infrastructure in Kenya.
All this is set within a high quality master-planned environment. The city will include business, retail, residential and educational facilities.
Earlier this year, the Kenya Parliamentary Accounts Committee gave the go-ahead for the USD10 billion technology city. Initially named the Malili Technopolis, it could be home to up to 100 000 ICT professionals.
