Jamii Telecom has launched its first fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service in the affluent suburb of Karen in Kenya.
The high-speed “Faiba” service offers a 10Mbps fibre-optic connection at KES10,000 a month and 20Mbps at KES20,000.
Jamii faces competition in the high speed internet access market from the likes of AccessKenya and Telkom Kenya, among others.
JTL Chairman Joshua Chepkwony says the company aims to roll out FTTH services to more wealthy Nairobi suburbs, where purchasing power and demand for broadband is greatest.
