September 2024 is a curious month for iPhone enthusiasts because Apple has introduced many things favorable for iPhone fans. Apple released the iOS18.1 beta to the public on September 19 and is available for anyone to download. The main feature of the iOS 18.1 beta is that it includes the Apple Intelligence features.
Apple will officially release the iOS 18.1 in October 2024 only. If you want to try the Apple Intelligence feature, you can download the beta version of iOS 18.1. If you are already a member of the public beta program, then the 18.1 version will be available on your device.

- The Safari browser now has a Reader view option, which can summarize the texts found on the web pages.
- Siri has completely changed. It has a new interface and can process natural language more efficiently.
- With the help of artificial intelligence, users can create certain videos using the photos and videos available on the device.
iPhone models that support Apple Intelligence
The Apple Intelligence feature cannot be available on every iPhone device. It is possible to download the iOS 18.1 beta on older iPhone models. However, it doesn’t mean you can take advantage of the AI capabilities.

- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16

Suppose you are holding an iPhone other than those mentioned above, you wouldn’t be able to use any of the AI features. Even the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are excluded from the list. If you do not have the latest iPhone model, you don’t need to download the iOS 18.1 beta.
How to Download and Install iOS 18.1 Beta
Below are the steps for downloading and installing the iOS 18.1 public beta.
- If you have not registered with Apple’s public beta program, you have to sign up for the program. Go to the Apple’s official website.
- After successfully registering with the public beta program, go to your iPhone settings and head over to the software update section.
- Simply click on the Beta Update button and choose iOS 18.1 Public Beta
- Return to the Software Update section and wait until the download option appears.
- Agree to the terms and conditions of Apple to begin the download.
- After downloading the public beta, it will automatically installed on your device.
