Key Takeaways:
There has been no stop to the leaks surrounding Google’s upcoming flagship smartphones, the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Fold. Last week, reliable leaker OnLeaks showed off what seems to be marketing images of the Pixel 9 series, offering a detailed look at the specs and features that could come with the devices.
Google Pixel 9’s Design, Camera Specifications, And Colors Leak In Marketing Images
As shown in the leaked images, the standard Pixel 9 will sport a 6.3-inch display with 12GB of RAM, while the high-end Pixel 9 Pro, available in two sizes this year, is expected to come with a 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch display with 16GB of RAM.
Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Fold could be in the market with an upgraded 6.3-inch display when folded and an 8-inch display when unfolded. Google’s foldable smartphone also gets 16GB of RAM. All three devices in the Pixel lineup are expected to be powered by the company’s new G4 Tensor chip.
In the camera department, the base Pixel 9 is likely to get a two-camera setup on the rear with a 50-megapixel wide lens and a 48MP ultrawide lens. On the front, the phone will have a 10.5MP selfie camera.
The Pixel 9 Pro models get a 42MP front-facing camera and three-camera setup on the back with a 50MP primary sensor, 48MP ultrawide sensor, and 48MP telephoto lens. Lastly, the Pixel 9 Fold is poised to get a 10MP selfie camera, 48MP main camera, 10.5MP ultrawide, and 10.8MP telephoto lens.
The leaks also showed what colors the phones will come in. The Pixel 9 will be available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Green, and Rose, while the Pixel 9 Pro colors include Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel, and Rose.
‘Pixel Screenshot’ Lets Users Search Information From Screenshots
Apart from the phone’s specifications and colors, the leaked marketing material also offered a glimpse at some of the new features that could be coming to the Pixel 9 lineup. We already know about the Gemini AI assistant and Circle to Search. In addition to that, the Pixel 9 is rumored to get a feature that lets users search from screenshots.
“Pixel Screenshots”, as it will be known, save information that the user may want to remember later, like events, or places, and use Gemini AI to search through all screenshots taken on the phone to find the one with the said memory. Users can also ask Gemini to summarize screenshots or answer related questions.
‘Add Me’ Merges Two Pictures Into One And Is Coming To The Pixel 9 Pro
In a leaked ad video for the Pixel 9 Pro, we can see the upcoming “Add Me” feature in action. The clip shared by OnLeaks shows a woman taking a photo of her two friends standing in front of a van using the phone. She then trades places and the friends take a picture of her in front of the same van.
The phone then seems to use the Add Me feature to stitch the two photos together so that all three friends appear in the same picture. Interestingly, when the second picture is being shot, the phone shows the phantom images of the first two people, helping the photographer align the shot.
Then there is the updated Magic Editor, which has added the capability to edit or reimage background images by prompting Gemini AI.
Further leaks indicate that the Pixel 9 will come with emergency SOS with crisis alerts, 7 years of security and Pixel feature updates, and free access to Google’s Gemini Advanced model for one year.
Google Will Release Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, And Pixel 9 Fold On August 13
While we know all this information about the phones, there could be more surprises from Google when the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Fold are unveiled on August 13th. So, stay tuned for more.
