The official launch of the sixth mobile telecommunication network in Ghana may still be hanging in a balance, although this has not yet confirmed by officials of the network in Ghana.
The launch, long-postponed and delayed at the last minute at the end of last year, was scheduled for tomorrow. Despite rumours that it might be postponed again, it looks set to go ahead this time.
Persistent calls to the Public Relations Officer of the Glo Ghana, Mr. Ekow Quarcoo, and the supposed coordinator of the event, a Mr Lasisi, had proved futile at the time of filing this report. But credible information picked up by BiztechAfrica indicates that the official launch would definitely take place, but there would be some slight changes in the itinerary of the event in Accra.
BiztechAfrica can also confirm that journalists belonging to the Network of Communications Reports (NCR) are gearing up for tomorrow’s event, with some of its members privy to information about the possible launch.
A message sent to members by one reporter disclosed: “I got a call from the most reliable source you can think about at Glo and the source confirmed it is coming on. But am told some things will change so I will be called again with the actual lowdown of the event.”
