Ghana’s Vice President K. B. Amissah-Arthur has concluded his visit to Japan with a call on Japanese investors to take advantage of huge investment opportunities offered by Ghana.
The Ghana government reports that Mr Amissah-Arthur, who was in Japan to attend the third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, also held a number of investment promotion meetings with top Japanese businesses.
Addressing various meetings in Tokyo, the Vice President said the current energy situation also presents opportunities for investment in the power sector. He therefore urged players in the Japanese power sector to follow the example of Sumitomo Corporation of Japan by also investing in Ghana as an Independent Power Producer.
He observed that the rising energy needs of Ghana, coupled with power supply deficit in a number of West African countries, make Ghana a strategic location for such investment.
