Botswana Power plans to expand its transmission grid, as a power supply agreement with SA’s Eskom nears an end.
The Botswana Power Corporation’s (BPC) power supply agreement with Eskom ends on December 31 this year.
BPC chief executive officer Jacob Raleru says in order to meet the country’s power supply demands, BPC will undertake transmission grid expansion.
The power supply plan for 2013 to 2020 will see the government relying on sources such as Morupule B, Morupule A, Orapa 90MW plant and Matshelagabedi 70MW plant, in addition to importing power from the region.
